I've known two Hispanics named Santos which means saint in Spanish and no, they weren't saintly.

Life of Brian
by berrygerry ini was a younger dub at the time of this release, and stopped watching this movie near its beginning, when john cleese was stoned with the huge rock for saying jehovah.. this was despite having been (and continuing to be) a major john cleese (and monty python) fan.. any fans of this film?.

slimboyfat:
I never understood that joke.
The joke started with 'Pilate' mentioning that he had a friend name Biggus Dickus. The centurion had to control his laughter while Pilate was speaking. Realizing the discomfort of the centurion Pilate then mentioned his wife's name "Incontinentia Bottuck" to see if he would break down in laughter.
Biggus Dickus married to Incontinentia Bottuck = A big dick and a woman who cannot control her defecation presumably during anal sex..

I Didn't Belong
by Nihilistic Journey ini remember an art project when i was six years old.
the teacher handed out felt pine trees that we glued to burlap sheets.
everyone then attached little pieces of colorful material to the felt trees.

I remember the same thing going out in service with a brother in the parking lot of a department store at night. We were scaring off women as we approached them by their cars. He didn't have a clue as to how inappropriate it was. An anxiety - more like a panic attack - gripped me and made me withdraw from the situation.
I told the brother I was with that there was something wrong about what we were doing. He said yes but he was thinking that I was the one who had something wrong with him. I think that was the last time I went out in service.
I didn't belong either.

How long can this cult remain with only kids becoming members?
by Crazyguy init's become clear that very few from outside the religion are joining anymore.
if only the kids of the people that are already in are the one replacing the members as they die off and 50% let's say of the kids leave then how long can they realistically last before the downturn becomes obvious?.

How long did the religion remain after the Rutherfordian purges of a hundred years ago? Estimates are that they lost 75% of their membership in a couple of decades. They can survive anything except, perhaps, a leadership that runs off with the money to the Cayman islands.

I feel frustrated
by BlackWolf inhello all, things for the most part have been somewhat better for me because my parents haven't talked about baptism or anything recently.
i got a scholarship to go to art camp for a few weeks which has been fun (since its free, my parents didn't refuse) but it has also been very nervewracking for me.
i haven't been around any non jws for more than a year and its like being in a different world, a world where people are actually real and genuine and not mindless drones.

I was lucky to have a high school buddy who helped me through my disfellowshipping - I was 21. He was a Baptist which made for a somewhat weird contrast between the two of us.
Don't be afraid of having any non-JW friends; they're the ones who can make a difference. Your JW friends are no friends at all. Think of it as part of growing up.

happy birthday.
by zeb injust finished a walk today i came onto a happy family group of all the generations celebrating a tiny ones birthday.
they all sang ..happy birthday and i sang with my bass baritone the chorus, .."why was she born so beautiful why was she born at all.." silly words but they are happy words.
the family cheered their pleasure at this outsider joining in.
